What is Web Hosting?
To let others see your website you need to "publish" your site. A web host has specially setup web servers (computers) designed to keep your site published on the web around the clock. The servers are setup with security in place to protect your site and they take care of your site ensuring it is out there on the web 24/7. Basically any computer can become a server but it requires a lot of knowledge to set this up. A web host specialises in this and provides all the backup you need.
In a nutshell a web host is like a utilities supplier... for example you want to use the phone you need a phone provider (like Telstra, Vodafone or Optus etc) to use their service to use the phone... so to use your website you need a web host you need to use their services so people can see your site on the internet.
Important terms: Website design services require a 50% deposit up front, full payment must be made before going live with the website. Additions to package are charged at $70 per hour.
